Bike Hire

We have two Axis 90 mountain bikes with front suspension & Shimano 18 speed parts.

Why not try out some fun mountain bike (MTB) action during your stay on our farm roads or explore the Klaasvoogds Meander by cycling to nearby restaurants & wine estates.

We also have bikes for kids so the whole family can explore.

Please enquire for prices & book at bike with our reception.

Please practice caution when swimming in the dam.

Swimming in the saltwater pool with a view

Our 4x9m saltwater swimming pool is complete with martini seat facing the spectacular mountain view, and a wide shallow step where young children can cool down under supervision.

The charcoal pool usually warms up naturally in summer and is surrounded by rolling green lawns with shade sails & sun loungers for the diva in you.

Wifi is available at the pool and there is space for your lawn games.

Mountain Hiking

The Pat Busch Mountain Reserve offers several mountainous trails ranging from fynbos & protea hikes to kloof hikes along wooded streams strewn with boulders, as well as a shorter hike in the foothills over rocks & boulders to find Bushman paintings left by the ancient San Bushmen of the Cape.

This is a registered site, although the Bushman paintings are obscure and difficult to identify. Hiking trails are exclusively for the enjoyment of our overnight guests which means that guests can walk or hike in complete safety.

Our info books in the accommodation units have maps of the trails, but we recommend enquiring with reception on the current condition of the trails plus we’ll be happy to print one for you, and you can grab some trail snacks at the shop while you are there.

Nature lovers must be prepared to enjoy beautiful mountain scenery, however be advised that some of our trails are steep at times and can be slippery in winter, early mornings or after rain.

Please remember to never hike alone, and be prepared with enough food & water (available at our shop), good hiking boots, suntan lotion & hat, common sense and a jacket.

Take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints.

Hikes take 3-5 hours and we recommend informing our reception of your route.

Bird Watching

There is an abundant range of both Cape fauna & flora on the reserve which forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, including a rare protea Vexatorella Latebrosa.
