We recently had the pleasure of hosting Anje from Going Somewhere Slowly, a local travel blogger and writer. This was her first experience of ‘glamping’ and she made a fabulous video clip about her time with us at Africamps @ Pat Busch Mountain Reserve. Watch her highlight reel below and read more about her stay on her blog Going Somewhere Slowly.

Guided Wine Tours

Pat Busch Reserve has recently started offering Guided Wine Tours with a qualified field guide in a comfortable air-conditioned Kombi to overnight guests. Anje from Going Somewhere Slowly was one of the first to enjoy this  new service with a visit to a few hand-selected estates on the Robertson Wine Valley Route. In this clip you can see her visit to Esona Winery, Zandvliet Wine Estate, Kranskop Boutique Winery and Springfield Wine Estate.

Pairings & Customized Experiences for your palate

All four estates offered a full tasting of their range and a tour of the cellar, but Anja also enjoyed the Zandvliet Wines ClemenGold Pairing. This included spicy panforte, biscotti and smooth dark chocolate – all with elements of zesty citrus – and ClemenGold (a special type of mandarin) marmalade complement Zandvliet’s Estate Chardonnay, Kalkveld Shiraz, Vintage Liqueur Wine and My Best Friend Muscat.

Esona offered a “Taste the Difference” experience for the Going Somewhere Slowly duo, where they tasted two vintages of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz plus comparisons between a Joker glass and grape specific glasses (RIEDEL). This was also paired with Fruit Preserves and chocolates, along with background music paired to each cultivar.
