Please note that the Pat Busch Mountain Reserve offers exclusivity of hiking trails, fishing and swimming to guests staying overnight and is not open to the general public or to day visitors.
The following activities are available at Pat Busch Mountain Reserve:
Hiking
There are numerous trails to enjoy on the reserve and we provide Google Earth Maps to all guests wanting to hike. The number one rule is NEVER HIKE ALONE, no matter how experienced you believe you are! Please be sure to let us know which trail you intend taking before you set off. We ask that you take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints.
Swimming & Bass Fishing
Our in our freshwater mountain dam is a quick 5 minute walk from the guest cottages and farmhouses. There are one or two paddle boats for guests to enjoy. Guests can also bring along their own fishing equipment for bass fishing. Catch & Release only.
Birding
There is an abundant range of bird life on the nature reserve, over approx. 150 different species. Bring your own binoculars!
Mountain Biking
Bring along your own mountain bike or hire one in the valley and explore the Klaasvoogds Meander. There are a few trails to explore – please ask for a map when booking!

It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.
